Green Faniel Jr.

Born on August 30, 1962, in Richmond, Texas, Green Faniel Jr. was the cherished son of Green Faniel Sr. and Daisy Mae Davison. His formative years began in Needville, Texas, before his family relocated to Richmond when he was eight. He was one of eleven children, contributing to a vibrant household. Green Faniel commenced his academic journey at Needville Elementary and distinguished himself by graduating from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1981. Following his graduation, he dedicated a few years to honorable service in the United States Army.

Green Faniel Jr. possessed a truly unique and extraordinary character, leaving an unforgettable mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His bubbly personality radiated warmth, enriching the lives of his family, friends and acquaintances. Affectionately known as "Bo Bo" by his father, this nickname evolved into "Bo Jangles" among his friends. Green Faniel Jr. embraced his faith early in life. His faith was the cornerstone of his existence; an early and deep devotion to God served as his unwavering compass, guiding every action and shaping his profound moral foundation.

Green "Bo Bo" Faniel was widely respected as an insightful mentor, a steadfast encourager, and a man of great character and integrity. He was recognized for his generous spirit and loving nature, often imparting valuable wisdom that cut through superficiality, urging others to discern between perception and reality and to choose logic over recklessness.  Beyond his profound insights, he found great enjoyment in life's simpler pleasures, particularly fishing. He was also known for his winning streaks at the slot machines. His distinctive personal style was also a hallmark; he was frequently seen sporting baseball caps and white Air Force One sneakers. Meticulous in his appearance, he ensured his jeans were always starched down to the nines and tens, while wearing that rich smelling cologne and his million-dollar smile.

We realize how blessed we are to have had Green “Bo Bo” Faniel with us for 64 years; but God saw fit to take him home with him. He was preceded in death by his father, Green Faniel Sr., & his brother Eric Garrett. Therefore, Green leaves to cherish his fond memories: his lovely mothers, Daisy Mae Davison & Wilma Garrett, his siblings, Annette Tallis, Annie Jackson, Della Mae Grant, Diana Lynn Faniel, Gwen Faniel, Karen Davis, Kelly Faniel, Rhonda Faniel-Telvig, Tammy Faniel, Terry Faniel, Oscar Bell Jr., children Yasheka Faniel,David Stredick, and Katrina Faniel-Collins, grandchildren Shania Rodgers, Meaghan Ferris, Leighton Faniel, Julianna Matthews, James Jones Jr., Kaden Collins, and a host of relatives.  

We do not lose the one we love, he only went before; where there is Everlasting Life, and sorrow is no more. There the soul will always live, and peace is everywhere. We do not lose the one we love, for the one we love the Man, Son, Brother, Father, Papa, Nephew, Uncle, and Friend, God is keeping him in His care until we all meet again!
