Joan A. Piper was born March 22, 1936, in Trinidad, West Indies, the oldest of three children born to Veran Joseph and Joseph Samuel Piper. Joan attended school in Trinidad. Sometime in the late 40's she moved to America to continue Education. She became license cosmetologist. Enrolled in Texas Southern University receiving a bachelor's degree and master's degree in social work.
After receiving her degrees, Joan was employed with Neighborhood Center for over 20 years and continued a new employment with Fort Bend County Social Services as a MSW& she also was a Social Work Intern Instructor with TSU & HCC until she retired.
Joan stated at a very young age she heard an audible voice telling her "to go onto the world and serve GOD." She started to pursue becoming a Nun but coming to United States, she embraced The Full Gospel Faith. She and her mother had a radio show where they taught the word of GOD. She received preaching license from Marine Valley Bible College and was ordained under Morris Cerullo's World Evangelism Ministry. She served GOD one way or the other every day of her life.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Percival Piper, sister, Anna Piper Sayers, nephews, Michael Piper and David Sayers. She leaves to cherish her memories, Michelle Piper-Matthews and husband Joseph Matthews, Sr.. great nephew-, Joseph Matthews, Jr. great nieces', Amber and McCauley Matthews and two great great nephews, Khai Rogers and Kade Jones, and a host of relatives and friends.
